She completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and her medical degree at Flinders University. Her clinical experience includes training in Australia and the United States.

Dr Shannon Abeywardena is an experienced female General Practitioner and RACGP Supervisor at Main Street Medical Centre. Providing healthcare services in English, she brings a diverse clinical perspective to Hervey Bay families through her extensive training in both Australia and the United States.

Dr Abeywardena earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, before completing her Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University in Adelaide. Her international clinical background includes rotations at institutions such as the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital and Santa Monica Hospital.
